European Track Elite Championships in Pruszków
First edition of European Track Championships for elite riders will be run at the velodrome in Pruszków (Poland). The event will take place on November 5th-7th and it will be the first qualification leg for the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
The event appeared in the track calendar after long and persistent endeavors of European Cycling Union and its President, Wojciech Walkiewicz. The best riders from the old continent, including Sir Chris Hoy, announced their presence at this debut event.
The main organizer of the event is company LangTeam. It will be new experience for the company run by former road rider, Czesław Lang. Until now LangTeam successfully organizes road (Tour de Pologne, Pomorski Klasyk) and MTB (Grand Prix MTB, Maraton MTB) races.
Pruszków has already hosted international track events. In 2008 the best juniors and U23 riders raced for their medals in European Championships and in 2009 Pruszków velodrome welcomed best elite riders at the UCI World Championships.
