Dear Cycling Friends,

Turkish Cycling Federation is proud to announce that the 2010 European Road Bike Championships will be held in Ankara, between 15 and 18 July, 2010, in cooperation with the European Cycling Union (UEC).

This four-day event will take place in the center of the capital of Turkey, Cankaya district of Ankara, where the Mausoleum of the founder of Turkish Republic is located. Road races will be organized over a 13-km circuit in the city center between 6 to 14 laps depending on the race category. The championships will be run as road races and time trials for women and men junior and U23 categories.

We have been working over the past few years to improve cycling in Turkey through noteworthy international cycling events such as 2007 European MTB Championships and upgraded Presidential Tour of Turkey. This aim plays an important role in selecting a metropolitan city to host the European Championships. We expect that, holding this outstanding event in the capital city will not only have an enormously positive impact on the stake holders of the country to promote cycling and to raise public interest and awareness, but also showcase our city and our sponsors to the other European Countries.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Ankara2010,

Sincerely Yours,

Emin MÜFTÜOĞLU
President of the Turkish Cycling Federation
