15-11-2011 European Derny Championships: Schep with gold European Derny Championships took place at the Velodrome in Italian Montichiari. Plenty of well known riders from all over Europe participated in the event. Peter Schep, from the Netherlands, who raced for 40 km just behind his pilot, Joop Zijlaard, reached for gold.

20 laps before the finish line only their fellow countryman Jeff Vermeul and his pilot, Ron Zijlaard, managed to keep the pace. These two reached for silver medal.

The third place at the podium belonged to the host riders: Manuel Cazzaro and his pilot, Cordiano Dagnoni. Lief Lampater and Peter Bauerlein (Germany) were classified just behind the podium.
